feed & frolic

Addison turned 5 months old yesterday and so much has changed. When she was born she had dark hair, it has now lightened and looks blonde like her mom. She also has her mom's round face, eyes and nose. She has her dad's mouth, ears and eye lashes. Seriously, her dad has crazy long eyelashes... hopefully she'll get his curly hair too.

We are in the third week of her sleeping in her own room - it has been... fine. She doesn't sleep the 10-12 hours straight the doctor claimed she would. She is fed and goes down about 10:30pm and then sometime between 3:00-5:00 she wakes up and cries, Michele gets up and gives her a pacifier. She either goes back to sleep or cries for up to 3 hours until Michele wakes up at 6:30 to feed her before work. Addison will usually go back to sleep when Michele leaves for work and sleeps until around 9 or 10. Funny, we ordered the baby that doesn't cry and sleeps through the night... there must have been a mix-up at the factory.

Last week we tried again to give Addison regular baby food. In addition to her normal food, she has now tried rice cereal and banana baby food. As you can see from the video below, she still can't seem to get as much food in her mouth as on her face.

On Monday, the whole family went to the local dog park. We had heard about it since we moved and finally went to check it out. There is a big park at the base of Sweat Mountain with a fenced-in area about an acre in size where the dogs are free to run off-leash. It's very wooded with benches and a water fountain for people and dogs. All four dogs had a blast chasing squirrels, each other, other dogs and exploring. Here are a few pictures, there are a lot more in the online album here.
