Pa Rum Pum Pea Nut

Chances are you're here now because you got an email from Michele or myself saying there was an update on the site. On occasion, I put a brief entry here and don't send an email. There are two entries before this one that I didn't send an update about, just click on December in the archive list to the right and it will show you all the entries for this month right below this one.

There is something to be said about living somewhere with very mild winters. About a week ago, we had a few days when the temperature was near 80 degrees. It was the middle of December and everyone had on shorts and a t-shirt. It did finally rain pretty good last week and because of the drought, the rain caused a tree to fall in our backyard. It was about 60 feet tall and broke a good part of our fence when it came down - I walked back there to survey the damage and take a few pictures.

Since it's in our neighbors yard, they are taking care of the damage

while I was back there, I took a picture of the back of our house

Addison will be 8 months old next week. She can stand on her own if she's propped up on something and seems to favor standing and wanting to walk rather than learning to crawl. She will probably be one of those babies that walks before she crawls but we're trying to teach her to crawl regardless. I was working on it with her a few days ago when something... happened.

We finally got a Christmas tree last weekend. It was pretty last minute and we debated getting one at all but Michele felt Peanut should have a tree for her first Christmas. It's pretty small but will get the job done. While Michele was getting the ornaments ready to decorate, Peanut enjoyed her Johnny Jump-Up.

Then the decorating began...

She lasted about 20 minutes

We're having Christmas Eve dinner tonight with Michele's family and then we'll leave first thing tomorrow morning to North Carolina to be with my family for a few days.

We hope you all have a great holiday!

P.S. there are a bunch of new pictures in the online album including out-takes from our Christmas tree photo shoot.
